TEAM CONVENE
An original concept at Gilda's Club, Team Convene reaches out to include everyone in the life of the person with cancer. Your extended family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, clergy and congregation members—and anyone and everyone else you may wish to invite—come to the clubhouse for a special meeting that's just for you.  Is it difficult talking to friends? Family wondering if they're saying "the right thing?" At Team Convene, people start talking. Feelings are explored, hopes and fears aired, questions asked and answered. Information is shared. Wondering how to get to chemotherapy? Is it hard asking for help or knowing whom to ask? Your customized Team Convene sorts out and assists with these practical matters. Plans are made, tasks assigned. A "Team Point Person" volunteers. We get things going—your team convenes and does it all.

FAMILY FOCUS
When you request a Family Focus, you are reflecting the Gilda's Club belief that your entire family -- however you may define its membership -- can be a significant force in helping everyone involved learn together how to live with cancer.  From the moment of cancer diagnosis, the family is impacted. Whatever the family rules and roles may have been before, life is no longer the same for anyone. Myths and beliefs about cancer abound, very often unspoken. Each individual in the family has concerns. What are they? How do we handle them? Not every family sits down at the kitchen table to develop a game plan. Gilda's Club invites you to assemble your family at the clubhouse -- parents, grandparents, children, aunts, uncles, cousins and anyone else you call "family" -- to focus on utilizing strengths and making life with cancer work for everyone. If caring friends are "family," they're welcome to join you at a Family Focus session, too.

NOOGIELAND
Too young to benefit from a Customized Membership Plan, children affected by cancer deserve a program that addresses their specific needs. At Gilda's Club, this program is called Noogieland. Noogieland is loaded with goodies and activities for children of all ages to share.
Noogieland holds a unique place at Gilda's Club Metro Detroit in that it serves two functions: It is both the Gilda's Club program for children and acts as a supplement to the Basic III for our members. This dual role comes from the philosophy that encompasses our entire program: Gilda's Club is equally for people with cancer and their entire families and friends.
Noogieland activities include support groups such as Kid’s Club, a support group for children under 13, and Teen Club which provides an opportunity for teens to volunteer, discuss the impact of cancer on their lives, and socialize. Additionally, there are a wide variety of support groups where children and teens can meet with others for friendship and support.
Noogieland is a place to have fun, play games, join in arts and crafts, play-act, and to participate in other entertaining activities. Noogieland also offers supervised play hours for children whose parents are attending member activities. Special events like Noogie Fest, an annual Halloween party for children, families and friends, plus a host of other fun activities ensure a great time for the entire family. Gilda’s Club meets federal daycare hygiene standards to ensure a safe environment for our children.
