Operations Update: 11/19/2021

Dear Gilda’s Club friends,

My last update introduced our summer and fall outdoor programming and celebrated inching toward more typical days at Gilda’s Club. It was a wonderful summer of friendship and purpose!

With temperatures lowering, our tents have come down and we rely again on a full and robust virtual program. However, we do see indoor, in-person programming on the horizon.

Our organization certainly has unique challenges for our immunocompromised population. The Task Force of physicians guiding us, advise continued protocols for safety as the efficacy of the vaccine in the oncology space is still uncertain.

Our target is to begin limited, in-person programming in mid-February. To do that:
     – All staff will be fully vaccinated
     – Any members and visitors to the Clubhouse will be fully vaccinated
     – Groups and workshops will be small and in our biggest rooms
     – Seamless hybrid technology is in place at all locations to ensure members participating from home can experience the Clubhouse environment, and those in the Clubhouse have a more interpersonal experience with friends at home

The environment will change and so will we. And we will always do so with your input and your trust. We are hoping you will take a few minutes to complete this survey to help us shape our work and our mission around you – our wonderful community of members, volunteers and friends. Warmly,

Laura Varon Brown
